To facilitate even lighting, the surface of the paper is non-reflective and has a fine-tooth finish. In addition to photography, the paper may be used for events, decorations, banners, and more.

The paper has a density of 145 gsm, offering a resilient thickness that is easy to handle. It is wound on a core with a 2.125″ interior diameter, making it suitable for many standard background stands. A plastic sleeve protects the roll during transit and can be reused for ongoing protection when the paper is not in use. To prevent warping and other damage, the paper should be stored vertically. Photographers typically use clamps to attach the paper to a backdrop stand and tape to secure it to the floor for full-body shots.
