The combination of magnification, objective size, and optical performance also makes this spotter a good choice for basic amateur astronomy and wide-field astrophotography techniques.

The scope’s lenses include fluorite-grade, extra-low dispersion, and high refractive index glass elements, treated with multiple layers of antireflective coating for optimal light transmission. The large objective lens admits enough light for a clear view even in low-light conditions or when zoomed all the way in. Angled at 45 for comfortable use, the scope accepts 1.25″ eyepieces and features an adjustable eyecup to allow for eyewear. An Arca-style foot allows for quick tripod mounting and the lightweight, fog and waterproof scope comes with a stay-on cover.
