Meade Giant Field Tripod

The Meade Giant Tripod is the same stand supplied with the Meade 12″ and 14″ LX200-ACF telescope models. This tripod provides the same solid, sturdy foundation necessary for high power observing the that Standard Field Tripod provides; only bigger andstronger. It is an excellent tripod for those with heavier gear, and for those looking to get into CCD imaging.

Weighing 50 pounds, stands at a comfortable viewing height with an adjustable range of about 20in, (from 34″ to 54″) making it optimal for both standing and sitting positions. It comes equipped with strong, rigid vibration damping chrome legs. You can mount your telescope in altitude-azimuth (vertical-horizontal) style, as well as equatorially (polar), onto this tripod by using a wedge.
