The Planewave 0.66x Reducer was created to work with flat field telescopes such as the CDK. This particular model has been designed to be used with the IRF90 rotating focuser. The 600166 CDK Reducer has a lower profile and can be used with cameras that take up more back focus. As with any high performance telescope, this reducer is easily affected by spacing. It has very little back focus of its own and uses a significant amount of the telescope’s back focus. However, if you have the appropriate camera setup, this fine accessory will reduce your CDK’s focal ratio while preserving its high level performance.

A crucial factor in getting the most ideal performance out of your system is the back focus between the reducer and the focal plane. Optimally, this distance should be 1.85″, but you can adjust this measurement and still receive superb performance.
