Takahashi FC-100DZ f/8 Doublet Refracting Telescope

The Takahashi FC-100DZ is the logical evolution to the FC-100 series and, of course, continues with the exceptional optical performance and clarity that Takahashi is known for. This scope is also fully compatible with all currently available FC-100 accessories from Takahashi!

FC-100DZ Design

Sporting a 100mm aperture with 800mm of focal length, this doublet combines a fluorite element with low dispersion glass for its high refractive index. So if you want an image of crisp clarity that you need to see to believe, this is where to get it. Its Strehl ratio is above 97.6% and this particular glass design heavily minimizes the blue halo sometimes present at shorter wavelengths by about 50% compared to the previous FC-100D.

Telescope Dimensions

The Takahashi FC-100DZ has a tube diameter of 95mm and the total length of the OTA is 595mm without the dew shield or any other piece attached. Weighing in at under 9 pounds, this scope is perfect for travel on the road, on a boat, or on a plane. You’ll be able to bring this wherever you want to go!

Telescope Compatibility

The FC-100DZ is fully compatible with the accessories available used with the existing FC-100 telescopes, including the FC/FS Muli-flattener and the FC-35 0.66X Reducer. With FC-35 reducer, this telescope becomes an excellent imaging system, illuminating a full frame chip at f/5.3. Mechanically, the FC-100DZ has a tube diameter of 95 mm and a retractable dew shield. With the dew shield retracted and accessories removed, the total length is only 595 mm, easily carried on most commercial flights. The FC-100DZ utilizes the same focuser used on the FC-100DF and DL and weighs approximately 3.8 kg.
